Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Placeholderlegal entity name and registered address ("we", "us"), the company that runs Topical Systems at topical.systems. Topical Systems is made by Growth Partner.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use it for a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept them for that company. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy

The service

You answer five questions about your business, topic, searchers, target country and competitors. The service then gathers competitor keywords, search volumes and live search results, and uses them to build a topical map, content briefs and articles, which you can export to Excel and Word.

We keep improving the service, so features may be added, changed or removed. If we remove something important from a paid plan, we will tell you first.

Your account

  • You sign up with your email address or your Google account, and you must give accurate details.
  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • Keep your login details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law, or use the service to create content that is unlawful, misleading, hateful or infringes anyone else's rights.
  • Try to reach other customers' projects or data, or get around limits of your plan.
  • Overload, attack, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or resell access to it without our written agreement.
  • Share your account with people outside your organisation, or create accounts automatically.
  • Use the service to send spam or to build sites meant to deceive search engines or readers.

Your content and who owns the output

What you put in stays yours, and so does what the service makes for you. Your inputs, and the maps, briefs, articles and exports generated for your projects, belong to you, as far as the law allows.

You give us permission to store and process your content only as needed to run the service for you. Each project is visible only to your account, and it is never used to build another customer's map.

Other customers may receive similar maps or text for similar topics, because the research is based on the same public search results. We cannot give you exclusive rights to general keywords, topics or ideas.

AI-generated content

Parts of the service use AI to write suggestions, briefs and articles. AI can be wrong, out of date or incomplete, and it can produce text that sounds sure of itself when it is not.

You are responsible for reviewing, fact-checking and editing anything before you publish it, and for making sure it is accurate and legal where you publish it. Do not rely on generated content for medical, legal, financial or safety advice.

Plans, billing and cancellation

There is a free plan with limits shown on the pricing section. Paid plans and their prices are shown on the site before you buy, and you agree to the price shown when you subscribe.

  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel any time from your account page. Your plan then stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed.
  • If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel before you pay the new price.
  • Prices may not include taxes, which are added where the law requires.

This does not take away any right to a refund or to cancel that the law gives you.

Third-party data and services

Keyword data, search volumes and search results come from outside providers and from public search engines. Search volumes are estimates, and search results change all the time, so the data shows a moment in time and may not match what you see later.

The service also relies on providers for hosting, login, AI and email. We choose them carefully, but we are not responsible for their own services or terms.

Our intellectual property

The service itself, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. These terms give you the right to use it for your own work while your account is active; they do not transfer any ownership of the service to you.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve the service without owing you anything.

No guarantee of results

We do not promise rankings, traffic or sales. Results depend on your site, your competition, search engine changes and how much of the plan you publish. Example results on our website come from past client projects and are not a forecast of yours.

Disclaimers

We work to keep the service available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that it will suit a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or harm to reputation, or for losses caused by content you published.

Our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to Placeholderliability cap amount.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other customers at risk, or is left unpaid. Where we reasonably can, we will warn you first and give you time to export your content.

When an account is closed, its content is deleted as described in our privacy policy. The sections on ownership, disclaimers and liability continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, email account holders before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not accept them, you can cancel.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Placeholdergoverning law and courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
